Bournemouth midfielder Romain Faivre (26) has joined Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois on a season-long loan, both clubs have announced. The 26-year-old player returns to northern Brittany after featuring 59 times for Les Pirates between 2020 and 2022. Faivre’s output of 14 goals and 11 assists earned him a €15m move to Olympique Lyonnais. Bournemouth signed Faivre last summer before being loaned out to FC Lorient for the first part of the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 campaign. He was recalled by the Cherries in January.
Faivre will wear the #21 jersey with Eric Roy’s Pirates, with which he will play in the revamped 36-team Champions League courtesy of their shock third-place finish last season. Faivre only made six competitive appearances for Bournemouth and featured in pre-season. Brest will kick off their Ligue 1 campaign at home against Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille this Saturday.
