Hannover 96 and German youth international Nicolò Tresoldi (20) is set to remain at the 2. Bundesliga club this month despite concrete interest from Cagliari, as cited by BILD.
Tresoldi has scored five goals in nine appearances for the Germany Under-21 squad and has contributed six goals (four goals, two assists) in 17 league appearances this season.
BILD cite Italian portal Centotrentuno, who state that unnamed Bundesliga and Italian clubs are interested in signing Tresoldi, whom Cagliari ‘keen’ on the attacker.
But as further reported by BILD, Hannover would command a fee in excess of €8m for Tresoldi, who has 18 months remaining on his current deal.
Hannover sit seventh but remain just four points behind leaders FC Köln. Should Hannover miss out on promotion to the Bundesliga, then it’s likely that Tresoldi would leave the club in the summer.
Appointed as head coach on December 29, André Breitenreiter praised Tresoldi, who, “has many of the qualities of a really good striker.”
