Sky Germany reports that Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has rejected a move to Bayern Munich as a move to Barcelona nears.
Bayern are said to have made a fresh approach for Williams in the past 48 hours, but the Spain international rejected die Rekordmeister.
The 22-year-old prefers a move to Barcelona, where he can reunite with his friend from the national team, Lamine Yamal. There is already a verbal agreement between the player and the Catalan side.
Williams has a release clause worth €63m. The 22-year-old will sign a contract at Barcelona until 2031 and will earn between €7-8m per year. Whether the Catalan side can register the winger is a completely different story.
This is the second winger to have rejected Bayern this summer after Florian Wirtz opted to move to Liverpool. Other targets that Bayern have been linked with this summer are Rafael Leao from AC Milan, Bradley Barcola of PSG and Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.
