Under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2027, Nico Schlotterbeck has recently been linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
When asked about Bayern’s reported interest at a press conference on Sunday, Schlotterbeck neither confirmed nor denied anything.
“I can’t really say anything about that,” he said.
However, he acknowledged that he enjoys playing alongside Bayern’s Jonathan Tah in the German national team.
“I’ve known Jona for a few years now, and I always enjoy playing with him. We complement each other well,” Schlotterbeck said of the former Bayer Leverkusen player, who joined Bayern on a free transfer this summer.
“Jona is very communicative on the pitch and really important for me. Defensively, he’s been a very strong centre-back for years and has developed extremely well.”
Schlotterbeck also noted that his ball-playing style complements Tah’s more traditional defensive approach.
“For me, playing with the ball is maybe a bit more interesting than it is for him. But he’s probably the better defender. That’s why it works so well,” the Dortmund man explained.
