Terem Moffi (23), who is currently on loan at OGC Nice from FC Lorient, will be absent for Les Aiglons’ match against Les Merlus on Sunday due tp the terms of the deal agreed between the clubs in January.
Moffi joined Nice towards the end of the January transfer window on a loan deal that includes a compulsory purchase option. The Nigerian forward will sign a four-year deal with Didier Digard’s side, with Nice paying Lorient €25m, plus a potential €5m in add-ons.
L’Équipe have now revealed that as part of the deal, it was agreed that wouldn’t be allowed to pay for Nice when Lorient visit the Allianz Riviera at the weekend.
Since joining, Moffi has started all seven of Nice’s games, with Le Gym unbeaten during his time at the club. He has scored three goals in that time, including two in a local derby against AS Monaco in mid-February. The former Lorient forward also scored against FC Nantes against the weekend.
However, Nice will be forced to make do without him in their next Ligue 1 tie. The options to replace him aren’t plentiful due to the absences of Nicolas Pépé and Sofiane Diop.
