Arsenal loanee Nicolas Pépé is set to return to the starting lineup for OGC Nice as they host FC Lorient at the Allianz Riviera on Sunday.
Pépé has been out with a tendinitis issue in his knee since mid-January. No timeline was given on his return, but he took to the field in midweek during Les Aiglons’ UEFA Europa Conference League victory over Sheriff Tiraspol. The Ivory Coast international is now set to return to the starting lineup.
Pépé’s timing is perfect. Without him, Nice would have been short in the offensive areas. Sofiane Diop is still sidelined, whilst Terem Moffi is ineligible. The Nigerian forward joined Nice on loan from Lorient – with an obligation to buy – in January, and per the agreement between the two clubs, Moffi will not be able to feature against his parent club.
Youcef Atal remains sidelined, and he is joined by Youssouf Ndayishimiye, who picked up a knock against Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday evening.
Nice likely XI v Lorient
Kasper Schmeichel – Melvin Bard, Dante, Jean-Clair Todibo, Jordan Lotomba – Khéphren Thuram, Hicham Boudaoui, Aaron Ramsey – Billal Brahimi, Gaëtan Laborde, Nicolas Pépé.
