Newcastle United are the latest Premier League club to register their interest in Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch, according to Christian Falk.
The in-form 29-year-old has spent most of his career in the 2. Bundesliga but since gaining promotion with Bremen two seasons ago, has adapted well to life in the top flight. This accumulated in the forward being called up to the Germany national team for their November friendlies.
As per the report, Newcastle are interested in possibly bringing the Bremen man to England in winter but will face competition from Nottingham Forest, who themselves have taken an interest.
If Bremen receive a fee for the 29-year-old similar to what they received for Niclas Füllkrug in the summer, around €15m, they would consider selling Ducksch. A move to England will also give Ducksch the chance to double his wages of around €2m a year.
This season, Ducksch has five goals and three assists in 11 Bundesliga games for Bremen.
