Newcastle plot huge summer move for Palace ace Eberechi Eze

Newcastle United might be in the middle of a tight race for Champions League football, but they’re already making moves behind the scenes as they prepare for next season.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Magpies have established themselves as front runners in the race to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer.

The creative midfielder has been identified as a key target to bolster the squad, especially if they end up losing Sandro Tonali.

The Italian midfielder is reportedly open to a summer exit despite helping Newcastle end their 70-year wait for silverware by winning the EFL Cup.

Serie A giants Juventus have made Tonali their priority target and are preparing to tempt Newcastle’s resolve with a player plus cash proposal that involves ex-Aston Villa ace Douglas Luiz.

It remains to be seen if the Magpies will go for it, but Tonali’s desire to move back home could force their hand.

The uncertainty surrounding Tonali’s future has prompted Newcastle to consider replacements, and Eze has emerged as a standout option.

The 25-year-old has returned six goals and 11 assists in 33 games across all competitions this season and has a £60 million release clause in his contract.
