Napoli star midfielder Anguissa ruled out of Bologna fixture

With Napoli set to host Bologna within match-week nine of the Serie A, the Partenopei’s star midfielder Frank Anguissa is ruled out of vital fixture due to injury.

Throughout the course of Spalletti’s men’s 4-2 victory over Dutch outfits Ajax, the 26 year-old was forced off the pitch following a muscular tweak.

After several assessments, the club confirmed in an official statement that the Cameroonian international suffered a thigh injury that will hold him at bay  for the time being:

“As scheduled, Frank Anguissa underwent medical examinations on Friday morning and the tests revealed that he has suffered an elongation of the semitendinosus muscle in his right thigh. The midfielder will continue the course of treatment he has already started.”

So far this season, the former Fulham play-maker has been in a fine run of form as he scored three goals and provided five assists in 13 appearances across all competitions for the Serie A leaders.

With a big void created within the central area of the park, it remains to be seen how Spalletti will cope with the current circumstances of his squad.
