Napoli are set to miss out on the signature of Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano, who is set to stay at La Viola.
FirenzeViola report that a meeting was held involving Italiano and Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso and there are positive signs emerging from that meeting. The talks were peaceful and constructive regarding the future of the La Viola boss and Commisso is happy with the progress made by Italiano. He is now staying at the club, despite interest from Napoli.
In tomorrow’s press conference, Commisso could speak about Italiano, while praising his work at the club and also shedding light on the future and the fact that he is staying at the club. Italiano’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2024 but Fiorentina have the option to extend the deal till the summer of 2025.
It was reported that Napoli would make a move for Italiano after the Conference League final but their hopes are now all but dashed.
