Napoli could land Romelu Lukaku if Antonio Conte joins

Serie A side Napoli are in the race to sign Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku and could land him if Antonio Conte arrives.

According to a report by Corriere Della Sera, Napoli have identified Chelsea man Romelu Lukaku as a possible replacement for the outgoing Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian is interested in playing in the Premier League and The Blues are aware of the situation. However, they are unwilling to pay the entire €130 million release clause amount for the 25-year-old lethal striker. The London-based outfits will attempt to agree on a lower transfer fee.

The Partenopei are expecting Antonio Conte to join the club as head coach soon and finding him a competitive striker is a necessary task at the hands of new sporting director Giovanni Manna.

A player-exchange deal between Napoli and Chelsea is a possibility but there is set to be the involvement of cash since there is a huge disparity in the players’ values.
