Moussa Diaby a priority for Newcastle United

Bayer Leverkusen attacker Moussa Diaby is Newcastle United’s number one target for the wide areas, according to Sport1.

The Premier League side are willing to pay between €35m and €40m for the 22-year-old, who made his debut for the French national team last year. Bayer Leverkusen however, are only willing to negotiate for a sum more than €60m.

Ligue 1 champions PSG are also interested in signing Diaby, who enjoyed his best spell in the Bundesliga last season since his arrival from the French club in 2019. Diaby scored 13 and created 12 in 32 Bundesliga games, his performances alongside Patrik Schick and Florian Wirtz helped Die Werkself qualify for Champions League football.

Diaby has three-years remaining on his current Bayer Leverkusen and would require a hefty figure before his club would contemplate allowing the Frenchman to leave this summer.

Per the report, another option for Newcastle United is Borussia Dortmund’s Thorgan Hazard. The Belgian is only a Plan B at the moment but BVB would allow Hazard to leave for around €15m.
