Rumored to be interested in a potential return to SV Werder Bremen, it now appears as if Union Berlin midfielder Kevin Möhwald will settle for a return to his former head-coach Florian Kohfeldt. Multiple German media sources, and Bremen’s “Deichstube” fan-site are now confirming that the 29-year-old will join Kohfeldt at his new station at K.A.S Eupen in Belgium.
Möhwald served longer under Kohfeldt than any other trainer in his career. Union will presumably be due a transfer fee for the Erfurt native they paid €1 million to acquire near the end of the autumn 2021 transfer window. Scarcely utilized by FCU trainer Urs Fischer, Möhwald’s estimated market worth has fallen from €3 million at that time to €600,000 today.
