Sebastien Kehl has explained why Borussia Dortmund has turned to Anthony Modeste as a replacement for the sidelined Sebastien Haller.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has expressed delight with the signing of Anthony Modeste from FC Köln.
Modeste has been brought in on a one-year deal from FC Köln in light of Sebastien Haller’s absence with testicular cancer, and Kehl believes the 34-year-old is the perfect fit for Dortmund in their current situation.
“The overall conditions for us in the current situation were not entirely easy, but we have been able to find an absolute dream solution – also for [Dortmund coach] Edin [Terzic],” Kehl said in an interview with Sky Germany.
“He will do us good,” added Kehl.
“‘Tony’ knows the Bundesliga. He will be able to integrate very quickly, speaks very good German and is top fit. He scored 20 goals last year and also showed in the years before that he can score.”
