Real Sociedad welcomed Mikel Oyarzabal back to training on Tuesday morning, in what is a major boost for the Basque club.
The club captain has trained with the group for the first time since rupturing his ACL in March.
On March 17, Real Sociedad confirmed Oyarzabal ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. He was successfully operated on on 24 March by doctor Mikel Sánchez.
He will now begin a pre-season training camp in order to be cleared for competitive action, after having already received his medical clearance.
If everything goes smoothly and he does not suffer any unexpected setbacks, he will be back in La Real’s squad for the final matches before the World Cup, according to Noticias de Gipuzkoa.
Spain boss Luis Enrique is also said to be keeping a close eye on his recovery to give him a chance to be included in the final squad for the World Cup in Qatar. But for that to happen, he will first have to prove himself with La Real.
