VfL Wolfsburg captain Maximilian Arnold has revealed he almost joined Borussia Dortmund back in 2009.
Ultimately, however, the 28-year-old midfielder ended up joining Wolfsburg’s youth team from Dinamo Dresden.
“At the beginning of my career, I almost ended up at Dortmund. But I liked Wolfsburg better,” Arnold told Sport Bild.
“There has been interest in me from the Bundesliga and abroad. But it never seemed to be a better fit than Wolfsburg. I never had the feeling that I urgently needed to leave.”
