Juventus manager Max Allegri has stated that he spoke to Adrien Rabiot in the summer transfer window and told him about his importance to the side, when there was talk of a move to Manchester United.
Rabiot was close to joining United in the summer as a fee was already agreed between the Red Devils and Juve, but personal terms weren’t agreed between the player and the English side and the move fell through.
But Rabiot has been in a good run of form and scored for Juve in their 2-0 win over Inter. After the win, Allegri spoke to DAZN (via TMW) and he revealed that the Frenchman was told of his importance to the Bianconeri in the summer window.
The Italian stated: “I talked to him about the possible transfer [to United], if he was happy to go and I told him he was esteemed at Juventus. I consider him a great player, he’s at the age of maturity, he played a great game and puts himself at the service of the team.”
Rabiot has scored five goals in all competitions this season and has also done well for the side in the Champions League, making a case for the fact that the Frenchman has been one of the club’s best players in a struggle of a campaign.
