Bayern Munich received several enquiries for Mathys Tel, including one from Nottingham Forest, but the French attacker will now remain at the Rekordmeister this month, according to Sky Germany.
Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart and Augsburg were also interested in signing Tel on loan this month but after internal discussions, the Frenchman’s immediate future is at Bayern Munich after Max Eberl and Christoph Freund came to the decision.
Tel has played 12 games (351 minutes) across all competitions for Bayern Munich this season but is yet to find the net.
Bayern Munich make a U-turn on Mathys Tel
It was reported in October that Bayern Munich were ready to send Tel out on loan in January, but the Allianz Arena outfit have now made a U-turn on their decision. Sky Germany further add that the 19-year-old decided during his winter vacation that he does not want to leave Bayern in search of additional playing time and instead wants to fight for his place in the squad.
Bayern Munich have informed interested clubs of their decision.
