As reported by L’Équipe, Spartak Moscow reached an agreement with Olympique de Marseille to sign Azzedine Ounahi (25), however, the player has turned down the move, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The Morocco international spent last season on loan with Panathinaikos in Greece, where he got his career back on track (37 games, five goals, seven assists) following a difficult 18-month period at OM. The Greek side held an interest in retaining the player, who is also attracting interest from long-term admirers Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, it is Spartak Moscow who have made a move and reached an agreement with Marseille. The two clubs have agreed on a deal of €12m.
Foot Mercato reported earlier this weekend that the Moroccan was hesitant to make the move to the Russian club. The publication now understands that Ounahi has opted against joining Spartak Moscow, who were offering him €2.5m per year.
