UEFA have revealed that Olympique de Marseille have been fined for sending their financial information too late. Aston Villa have also been sanctioned by the governing body.
Whilst Marseille, like Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco did send over their financial information to the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) for the year 2023, they did not do so in time. Due to the lateness in sending across the relevant documentation, Les Phocéens have incurred a fine of €20,000.
Aston Villa also fined by UEFA for same offence as Marseille
After a turbulent 2023/24 season, OM missed out on all forms of European football this season, despite making a run to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League, losing to eventual winners Atalanta Bergamo.
Premier League side Aston Villa, who will feature in the UEFA Champions League this season after a top-four finish last season, have been sanctioned for the same offence. They have been fined €60,000.
