Marsch already ‘looking at couple of new signings’ at Elland Road – GiveMeSport

Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch is looking to make a couple of signings in January, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The American was busy during the summer, bringing eight new faces to Elland Road, but it appears that he wants to improve his squad even further.

How have Leeds’ new signings fared this season?

Marsch can be pleased with what he is currently getting from Leeds’ latest additions.

While he was sent off in a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa earlier this month, Luis Sinisterra has still come up with a few goals for the Whites in the current campaign, so he has not had a bad start to life at Elland Road.

Brenden Aaronson has also come up with a couple of goal contributions, while his compatriot Tyler Adams has been ever-present for Marsch’s side in the Premier League, so Leeds’ new signings have been showing their worth.

It will now be interesting to see who joins them at the club, if anyone at all, when the transfer window reopens in January.

What has Jones said about Leeds’ January transfer plans?

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Marsch would like to make a couple of signings once Leeds are able to dip into the market again.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “There are still steps to be made in this squad build. I know that Jesse Marsch is looking to make a couple of signings in that January window, and I think that those signings will help with this need to remain competitive.”

Who do Leeds want to sign in January?

One player is PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo, someone who they chased in the last transfer window.

According to The Athletic, after failing to sign the winger during the summer, Leeds have been working on a deal to bring the winger to Elland Road in January.

However, the same outlet states that he is not currently keen on a move to the Premier League club.

When was Leeds founded?

Gakpo has made a fantastic start to the season. In nine Eredivisie matches, the Dutchman has scored nine goals, while he has also found the back of the net a few times in PSV’s Europa League campaign.

As per WhoScored, Gakpo is also averaging four key passes per league game, so it really is no surprise that Leeds want him.

Unfortunately for the Yorkshire club, though, it appears that he is not interested in a switch to Elland Road right now.
