VfL Wolfsburg are hoping to tie Omar Marmoush down to a new deal as they look to fend off interest from a number of clubs, including Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Espanyol.

“We want to extend Omar’s contract. To this end, we are in close exchange with his agent and will now intensify the talks,” Wolfsburg managing director Jörg Schmadtke is quoted as saying by Aller-Zeitung and Wolfsburger Allgemeine.

Per the two local publications, an agreement on a contract beyond 2023 should be reached in the near future.

Marmoush scored a late winner in Wolfsburg’s 1-0 DFB-Pokal win over Carl Zeiss Jena.
