With Marco Verratti looking increasingly likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer – whether that be to Saudi Arabia or another club in Europe – the Italian midfielder has been left out of the squad that will travel to face Toulouse tomorrow evening.
Another notable absentee is Spanish left-back Juan Bernat – despite Nuno Mendes’ injury absence – with the former Bayern Munich man ostensibly closing in on a return to the Bundesliga.
The squad to take on Les Violets, though, does include both Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé. The former has been brought back into the first-team set-up after a (temporary?) truce in his contract extension stand-off with the club.
As for the new signing, Luis Enrique indicated in his press conference that the former Barcelona man was match-fit and ready to be included in the starting lineup. Whether his squad on September 1 will look the same, though, remains to be seen.
