Sevilla’s Marcão is predicted to be sidelined for at least three months with an injury, report Marca.
The Brazilian centre-back arrived to the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán from Galatasaray this past summer, but has been struggling with injuries ever since.
Marcão is set to travel to Madrid to undergo surgery on Friday by Lass Lempainen and Pedro Ripoll, who are prestigious professionals in the field. He is expected to be out of action for at least 12 weeks.
Sevilla currently find themselves in the relegation zone of La Liga and the lack of bodies in defence meant that they had to rely on Nemanja Gudelj to slot into the heart of Los Nervionenses defence in the first half of the season.
With Alex Telles ruled out for a considerable length of time as well, the Andalucían outfit will most likely use the January transfer window to bolster their defensive line.
