As reported by SportMediaset, Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar will not be fit for the Manchester United game and is set to remain sidelined for a while longer.
Svilar, who’s out with a broken toe since the start of the month, was anticipating an early return, but Roma are taking no chances and have decided to prolong his recovery phase through the imminent international break.
Pierluigi Gollini, who has been deputising for Svilar, is expected to be between the sticks for the game at Old Trafford.
Despite going with their No. 2 on the pitch, the Giallorossi won’t be too worried about their chances in their latest Champions League encounter. The mood in and around Manchester United is, to put it simply, funereal, with any sense of form and belief nonexistent. Roma have been conceding goals of late, and they must still be ruing that defeat to Real Madrid, but they should be able to get a win here and march forwards towards knockout qualification.
Roma’s other two games before the international break are in Serie A: a trip to Udinese followed by a home game against Sassuolo after the trio to Manchester.
