Manchester United close to agreeing a deal to sign Manuel Ugarté from PSG

According to Foot Mercato, Manchester United are getting closer to agreeing a deal with PSG to sign Manuel Ugarté (23) this summer. The Premier League are targeting the Uruguyan international as they look to bolster their midfield under the direction of INEOS.

Paris Saint-Germain have declared Ugarté surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes. Despite signing for the Ligue 1 Champions last summer, the 23-year-old saw his playing time under Luis Enrique limited last season and is now resigned to the fact that he will leave the French capital. Other clubs are interested in the former Sporting midfielder but United are leading the race.

Replacements ready?

PSG are planning to reinforce in midfield this summer. Foot Mercato report that Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich (29) and Benfica’s João Neves are both targets under consideration by Luis Campos. Everton’s Amadou Onana has also been linked with a move to Paris as reported by FM
