Manchester United are having ‘internal discussions’ over the futures of Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri, journalist Fabrizio Romano has informed GiveMeSport.
The attacking duo have both been linked with temporary moves away from Old Trafford in the January transfer window, but it remains to be seen what manager Erik ten Hag decides to do with them.
Manchester United news – Elanga and Pellistri
Back in December, The Athletic revealed that Elanga is admired by the Everton hierarchy as they look to bolster their faltering forward line this month.
The Toffees are working on a restricted budget at this moment in time, and it’s claimed that the Sweden international has emerged as a loan target for Frank Lampard.
Meanwhile, Romano himself disclosed that United have scheduled a new round of talks with Pellistri’s representatives to discuss a possible temporary switch away from the club in the winter window.

It’s believed that Valencia, Bologna and Flamengo are among ‘many clubs’ who have enquired about the 21-year-old’s availability.
Ten Hag has publicly stated that he believes Pellistri ‘has a future’ at United, but the Dutch tactician may feel the attacker needs more experience before he can challenge for regular game time.
What has Romano said about Elanga and Pellistri?
Romano has revealed that United chiefs now ‘have to decide’ what the best course of action for the youngsters is and that they will take their time before coming to a conclusion.

In an interview with GMS, he said: “It’s on Man United, they have to decide. I think they will take some time.
“This is why they’ve not decided yet, because they want to make sure they can help the team as much as possible and then maybe to allow one of them to leave on loan. And so, internal discussions are ongoing, but there are many possibilities for these players.”
Can Man Utd afford to lose Elanga and Pellistri?
United have already brought in Burnley striker Wout Weghorst on a six-month loan deal to replace Cristiano Ronaldo this month, providing additional strength in depth upfront.
On top of that, winger Jadon Sancho is now also closing in on a return to first-team action following an extended period away from the spotlight.
And with Marcus Rashford, Antony, Anthony Martial, and Alejandro Garnacho also available for selection, Ten Hag suddenly has several options at his disposal in the final third of the pitch.
Therefore, one of Elanga or Pellistri, who earn a combined £70,000-per-week, could possibly be allowed to depart United on loan to gain some valuable minutes under their belt.
