Manchester United are reportedly now looking at Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller as a possible option to explore towards the end of the summer transfer window.

According to Ben Jacobs, internal discussions have been taking place at Man Utd about entering the market for a player in that position.

Although there’s no guarantee a deal happens, it seems 24-year-old Germany international Stiller is one of the names the Red Devils have discussed as a potential target to pursue.

See below for Jacobs’ post on X about United’s interest in Stiller, which follows previous interest in Brighton’s Carlos Baleba in that position…

Jacobs said: “One of the midfielders on Manchester United’s list of options is Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller. No guarantee anything develops, or that any midfielder arrives, but internal discussions taking place over different targets. Stiller has come up in discussions as #MUFC now decide whether to sign another midfielder before the window shuts.”

Manchester United eyeing Angelo Stiller after Carlos Baleba transfer fails to materialise

As noted by the Athletic’s David Ornstein in this interview with NBC Sports, it looks like Baleba won’t be possible for United this summer, but could remain a long-term target for the club…

Baleba looks like he would have been ideal for United, but Stiller is another fine option surely worth considering.

MUFC have done well to strengthen their attack this summer, bringing in an entire new front three in the form of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.

However, apart from that this is still largely the same squad that finished 15th in the Premier League table last season, so more changes are surely needed.

Baleba and Stiller make sense as targets for Ruben Amorim’s side, as there’s clearly a need for upgrades on under-performing defensive midfield players Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte.
