Lyon manager addresses Endrick links

With the upcoming World Cup in mind, Endrick (19) is looking to leave Real Madrid in January in order to earn some much-needed game time.

As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, Olympique Lyonnais have opened talks to sign the Brazilian. OL, currently in the fight for European football, are looking to bring the Brazilian on loan in January. It is a logical move for all parties. The player needs game time, he is currently out of the picture at Real Madrid, and Lyon, financially hamstrung, need offensive reinforcements.

Due to obligations to UEFA and the DNCG, Lyon were forced to sell Georges Mikautadze during the final hours of the transfer window, but could not bring in a quality replacement due to the restrictions placed on the club. Their current options are Rachid Ghezzal and Martín Satriano. Both have struggled and Paulo Fonseca has often opted to start without a recognised centre-forward.

Fonseca has now addressed the links with a move for Endrick. “I don’t speak about players who aren’t here (laughs). I want good players, of course, and all of those who have quality are welcome,” said the Portuguese manager.
