Liverpool told to make a move for Victor Osimhen this summer

Manager Arne Slot has identified a potent centre-forward as a missing piece in his tactical blueprint, especially as Liverpool pledge to move on from Darwin Nunez.

Slot’s system, which emphasizes patient ball progression and clinical finishing, needs an attacker who is better with the ball and has a much better finishing quality than Nunez.

In his aim to revamp Liverpool’s attack, the Dutch manager is currently searching the market for a striker who can build on their success last season and form a formidable partnership with Mohamed Salah while also combine with the likes of Florian Wirtz and other creative players at the club.

Liverpool told to make Victor Osimhen move

One of the players linked with a move to Anfield is Victor Osimhen, who scored 37 goals in all competitions for Galatasaray last season, while playing for the Turkish club on loan from Serie A giants Napoli.

Football pundit Ally McCoist has spoken about how Osimhen would fit at Liverpool and if the striker would move to Manchester United this summer.

While speaking on talkSPORT, he said:

“I think Osimhen would be absolutely perfect at somewhere like Liverpool.

“I think he’d be unbelievable at Liverpool.”

Arne Slot has to consider financial situation

Osimhen’s proven scoring record, European pedigree, and alignment with Slot’s tactical aspirations would deliver immediate value but his wage demand might become a little too difficult for the Reds to afford who have offered new contracts to Salah and Virgil and Virgil Van Dijk and are currently on the verge of financing a big money deal for Wirtz.

Nunez’s sale might help them ease their financial concerns but Osimhen is a striker who is a proven goal scorer at the highest level and his addition to the Liverpool attacking force would not only provide Slot a new dimension in his attack but also send a message to their rivals.

With Napoli interested in a move for Nunez, perhaps the two clubs could come to an agreement about a player plus cash deal but it remains to be seen what the future holds for the Nigerian and the Uruguayan attacker.
