Liverpool have submitted an initial offer in excess of €100m for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Bundesliga club have received the offer and are currently in negotiations with Liverpool. The overall package submitted by the Premier League champions is over €100m when including add-ons.
Leverkusen have previously stated that they would only sell Wirtz for a fee of around €150m. If this is still the case, Liverpool will have to come back with a second bid.
Wirtz has informed B04 that he only wants to join Liverpool this season. It’s now only up to both clubs to agree on a fee before contract details can be finalised.
Wirtz – who scored 16 goals and provided 15 assists in 45 games across all competitions for Leverkusen this season – travelled to England with his entourage a couple of weeks ago to discuss a potential move.
It now appears only a matter of time before Wirtz gets his move.
