Liverpool eye three midfield targets including Real Madrid star

After securing the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool are now looking for more reinforcements in the midfield in the summer transfer window.

Midfield remains a grey area following a dismal 2022/23 campaign – where they failed to secure the Champions League qualification – as well as the departures of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner.

According to Fichajes.net, the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has three names in his mind: Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Federico Valverde of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.

Lavia, 19, had an impressive campaign individually in the Premier League last season despite the Saints’ relegation to the Championship.

Having said that, the Reds face stern competition for the Belgian Defensive midfielder, with Chelsea and Arsenal in the running.

Reports are stating that both the London clubs are the frontrunners to land the former Manchester City star.

Elsewhere at Bayern, Gravenberch’s future continues to be the subject of exit speculation after being left disappointed with the lack of game time in his debut season.

The Dutch midfielder, who is currently part of U21 Euros, is eager to leave Allianz Arena to revive his career, while the Merseysiders are said to be the best-placed club to sign him.

Last but not least, Valverde remains a dream target for the Reds, having seen their attempt thwarted by Real Madrid last summer.

Recent reports suggest that the Reds are ready to break the bank for the Uruguayan midfielder, whose position at Madrid has been called into question following the arrival of Jude Bellingham.

Nonetheless, Valvere recently played down the exit rumours, insisting he wants to keep on winning trophies with Los Blancos.

Celta Vigo sensation Gabri Veiga and OGC Nice’s Khephren Thuram are also on the radar of Liverpool.
