RMC Sport are reporting that soon-to-be former Paris Saint-Germain forward Lionel Messi (35) has reached an agreement in principle to join MLS side Inter Miami.
L’Équipe reported earlier on Wednesday that Inter Miami were in pole position to sign the Argentinian World Champion. RMC now report that, despite Xavi’s best efforts, Messi is now set to move to the United States, and an agreement between the player and the MLS side has already been established.
Whilst many stars of the European game such as Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté are heading to the Gulf State, Messi doesn’t look set to be one of them, despite at one point reportedly having an agreement in principle to join Al Hilal. The player’s entourage later told Get French Football News that no such agreement had been reached.
At this point in time, nothing has been signed, but the clear tendency is for a move to Miami, and an official communication on the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future is expected soon.
