After their elimintation from EURO 2024 by Spain, Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann is already planning the future of the national team, according to Sport Bild (via @iMiaSanMia).
One of the biggest issues for Germany will be replacing Toni Kroos who retired from football after the loss on Friday. Despite the retirement of Kroos, Nagelsmann will continue with the same style of play and sees the likes of Angelo Stiller of VfB Stuttgart, Pascal Groß of Brighton and Aleksander Pavlovic from Bayern Munich. This also means that Leon Goretzka is unlikely to be recalled to the national team while Nagelsmann is there.
In defence Joshua Kimmich is likely to stay at right-back as he put in several good performances during the tournament. The future of Manuel Neuer is still up in the air and within the DFB they assume that he will continue on as goalkeeper, which will impact Marc-Andre ter Stegen who was expected to be promoted to number one.
In attack, Kai Havertz will continue on as striker. Nagelsmann was impressed with how Havertz played as Germany;s number nine during EURO 2024 despite his lack of goals compared to Niclas Füllkrug.
