Having started RC Lens’ 1-0 UEFA Champions League defeat against PSV from the bench, Angelo Fulgini and Andy Diouf will start against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday night.
Diouf, despite his big-money arrival from FC Basel, has not played a prominent role in European competition so far this campaign, with the experience of former Leicester City midfielder Namaplys Mendy being preferred. However, Diouf is one of the first names on the team sheet in Ligue 1, starting nine of Lens’ first 11 Ligue 1 games.
The France U21 international will likely start against Marseille and it could be Salis Abdul Samed who drops to the bench. Fulgini is also likely to return. It was Adrien Thomasson who started in the Netherlands in midweek. He struggled and is now set to be dropped with Fulgini set to take his place.
Lens likely lineup v Marseille
Brice Samba; Facundo Medina, Kevin Danso, Jonathan Gradit; Deiver Machado, Andy Diouf, Nampalys Mendy, Ruben Aguilar; Angelo Fulgini, Elye Wahi, Florian Sotoca. (L’Éq)
