Lens centre-forward Martin Satriano (23) has suffered an ACL injury in his left knee, according to reports from La Voix du Nord and L’Equipe. It is a serious blow for Will Still’s Artois side considering Les Sang et Or have struggled to break open defenses so far this Ligue 1 season. Lens only scored five league goals so far. Only promoted sides Saint-Etienne (3) and Angers (4) have scored less. Satriano signed for Lens on loan from Serie A Champions Inter Milan. The 1-time Uruguay international remains tied with the Nerazzurri with a contract set to expire in 2027.
Satriano sustained a serious injury last Saturday during Lens’ goalless home draw against OGC Nice. The 23-year-old came off the bench in the final 15 minutes with Still’s side unable to break the deadlock. An MRI undertaken this Monday showed an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, meaning he is expected to miss the better part of the current campaign. La Voix du Nord reports that Lens might use their ‘joker’ to sign a centre-forward from a French outfit.
