Lukas Klostermann is apparently stalling on extending his contract with RB Leipzig, which expires at the end of the season.
According to Kicker, the versatile defender has had an offer on the table “for some time”, but hasn’t accepted it yet.
The report claims that this has led to Leipzig giving Klostermann a deadline, telling him that he must make a decision and inform the club of his plans by the end of the year.
Klostermann has seen his playing time increase recently, starting Leipzig’s last three Bundesliga games.
“He is incredibly reliable,” RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose said recently.
“You know exactly what you’re going to get and what you might not get. But what you get is a lot.”
Klostermann joined RB Leipzig from Bochum in 2014. He has made 272 appearances for Die Roten Bullen, scoring 13 goals and providing 12 assists.
