Leeds United will ‘probably be in the race’ for Club Brugge winger Noa Lang when the market re-opens for business, according to journalist Dean Jones.
The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Elland Road in the previous transfer window but ended up staying put with the Belgian champions and has continued to impress for them.
What is the latest news involving Lang?
Lang is a long-term target of Leeds, and he openly admitted that the west Yorkshire outfit attempted to secure his signature in the summer of 2021.
“They were concrete, yes. Leeds made three offers. We even negotiated – they flew to the Netherlands,” he told HLN when asked if the Premier League outfit wanted him.
The technically gifted star then declared that he would be leaving the Belgian First Division A and that fans of the league would ‘pray’ there was someone of his talent still in the league.
Unfortunately for Lang, though, his move never materialised, although that could be about to change in January.
Dutch outlet Voetbal have listed Leeds amongst the Netherlands international’s potential suitors alongside the likes of Aston Villa, AC Milan, Atalanta, Everton and West Ham United.
What has Jones said about Lang?
Jones believes that there are up to a dozen team monitoring Lang’s progress and that Leeds are one of those sides currently debating whether to ‘push the button’ on a move for him.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “They probably will be in the race when the time comes.
“But, Noa Lang’s got this global reputation, whereby probably 10, 12 teams are watching Noa Lang at the moment, just waiting to decide whether it’s time to push the button and actually go through with a bid for a player who’s got such potential.”
Would Lang be a good signing?
Lang was in outstanding form for Brugge last term, registering nine goals and 15 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions, firing them to the top-flight title.
The 5 foot 10 ace has also impressed in the current campaign without quite reaching the same heights, finding the back of the net on four occasions in 16 outings while setting up three further strikes.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed Lang has chances to leave Brugge in the winter window and that the ‘asking price has always been around €30-35m (£26.2m-£30.6m)’.
Therefore, Leeds could make an astute acquisition if they manage to fend off the competition for Lang and finally bring him into the club.
