Leeds United must pay £17m to land talented Bundesliga star

Leeds United are interested in signing Hoffenheim star Anton Stach this summer.

But the Whites have been told they must pay £17.25 million to secure a deal for the 26-year-old, per the Sunday Mirror.

Leeds have reportedly opened talks to sign the Germany international, but they are yet to make an official bid.

Stach joined Hoffenheim in 2023 after impressing with his performances at Greuther Furth and Mainz.

He has been a key member of the first-team for the Bundesliga outfit, making 10 goal contributions in 71 appearances across all competitions.

Stach mainly operates as a defensive midfielder but is also capable of playing in central midfield and defence.

With one year left on his contract, Hoffenheim are open to selling him this summer, but want £17.25m to sanction an exit.

Leeds are in the market for a new midfielder after Joe Rothewell returned to Rangers at the end of his loan deal.

They submitted multiple bids to sign Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff, with the latest at £10m plus £2m in add-ons.

But the Magpies turned down their offers, as they want a fee closer to £15m, despite the English footballer’s deal expiring in 2026.

Daniel Farke’s side have also been linked with Juventus star David Luiz, but it remains to be seen who Leeds will end up signing this summer.
