Leeds United make contact for Juventus’ Weston McKennie

Premier League side Leeds United have made first contact to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

It was reported yesterday that Arsenal had enquired about the possibility of signing McKennie and it came days after Bournemouth had made an offer, amidst links with Fulham and Aston Villa. McKennie was not interested in joining those three clubs.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Leeds are interested in the American and have made first contact for the midfielder. There is an expectations that both the clubs will talk about the player more in an attempt to reach an agreement regarding the deal.

Leeds have already have a fair amount of American connections in the side due to the presence of manager Jesse March, midfielder Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson. This is expected to be a key part of the move, with Juve now trying to negotiate for a transfer.

It was recently reported that the Bianconeri may be open to selling McKennie for a reduced price than their initial demand.
