Things are not quite pretty for Serie A side Lazio this season as after their 3-1 loss to Atalanta at the weekend, manager Maurizio Sarri seems to have taken a shot at the club’s CEO Claudio Lotito during training yesterday.
Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) have reported about the situation at the Roman club, stating that the club’s players find Sarri’s methods and training to be rather monotonous. The tension is now reaching new levels as yesterday, Sarri was rather direct about his criticism about Lotito, in front of the players.
When a training session resumed, Sarri told the players: “If you think that the problem is me, stick your b***s out and go to Lotito.”
The report from Corriere dello Sport provides more insight into the situation, stating that Sarri had used a strong tone during a training session last Wednesday. He pointed out the players’ mistakes during a video session, dumping the idea of changing formation and sticking to the current shape.
The report points towards a lack of unity at the club, which finds itself closer to being outside the top ten than the top four.
