The powers that be at La Liga strugglers Almería have today agreed to a pair of transfer deals.
The first comes in the form of a fresh addition to Gaizka Garitano’s squad.
On the back of mounting speculation over the course of recent days, experienced La Liga campaigner Jonathan Viera has officially put pen to paper on terms with the club.
Attacker/midfielder Viera, for his part, had been a free agent since terminating his contract with Las Palmas owing to a falling out with García Pimienta back in December.
After originally looking set for a move to the Saudi Pro League, though, the 34-year-old has instead opted to extend his time in Spain.
As per a series of posts across the club’s social media platforms on Tuesday evening, Viera has committed to a contract with Almería through the summer of 2025.
And as one player makes his way through the doors at the Power Horse Stadium, another is all set to head in the opposite direction.
The man in question? Lázaro.
As confirmed by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, attacker Lázaro has agreed to the terms of a contract with Brazilian giants Palmeiras.
The 21-year-old, in turn, will seal an imminent return to his home country over the days ahead.
Almería, for their part, will secure an initial €1.5 million loan fee for Lázaro, with Palmeiras boasting the option to make the transfer permanent for a further €13.5 million.
Should as much come to fruition, and Lázaro then be sold on down the line, Almería will also be entitled to a 14% cut of this fee.
