Barcelona fans woke up to more disappointing news on Sunday, as they discover that Lamine Yamal is set to miss his side’s encounter with Brest on Tuesday.
This news comes via Diario AS, who are reporting that the club are unwilling to risk Lamine before he is completely ready, following the awful experience the club has had dealing with Frenkie de Jong’s injury.
The youngster is still dealing with pain in his right ankle so the club aren’t willing to take any chances in case they aggravate the injury further.
This could be problematic for Barça, who haven’t looked the same team without Yamal on the pitch and have failed to win since the 17-year-old got injured.
This would make it seem that the young winger will be likely to return as the club host Las Palmas next Saturday afternoon, but again this will depend on whether the injury continues to linger.
This news makes Barcelona’s match against Brest essential viewing, as it will be an encounter between a Barça side low on confidence and a Brest side with confidence to spare, who have taken the Champions League by storm.
