Barcelona star Lamine Yamal secured for himself a piece of recent Spanish football history in the club’s latest outing.
This came owing to the youngster’s converted penalty.
Barcelona were of course back in action on Sunday night, making the trip to Madrid for a meeting with Rayo Vallecano.
Wide-man Lamine was for his part in from the off at Vallecas, from his customary berth on the right flank.
And en route to an eventual 1-1 stalemate, the Spanish international was responsible for Barcelona’s solitary goal.
As much came late in the first-half, when Lamine stepped up to convert from the penalty spot.
And as alluded to above, in the process, Barcelona’s prodigious young winger etched his name into the history books once more.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of statisticians Opta that:
‘Against Rayo Vallecano, FC Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal has become the youngest player to score a penalty goal in LaLiga in the 21st Century (18 years and 49 days).’
