Kylian Mbappe transfer update emerges at Old Trafford

Manchester United do not have a chance of signing Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The 23-year-old forward is seemingly unhappy at the Parc des Princes, but Jones cannot see Old Trafford being a destination for him if he does leave the French giants.

What is the latest news involving Mbappe?

Reports recently emerged claiming that Mbappe is seeking a move away from PSG.

According to multiple outlets, including The Telegraph, Mbappe wants to leave the Ligue 1 champions in January due to a break down in relationship with the club.

The Frenchman only signed a new three-year contract during the summer amid interest from Real Madrid, but it now looks like that deal may not be enough to keep him in Paris.

If PSG do decide to sell Mbappe, he is not going to come cheap. They paid AS Monaco around £166m (via BBC Sport) for him after initially taking the player on loan back in 2017.

What has Jones said about Mbappe and United?

Jones does not think United are a club Mbappe would consider at this moment in time.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I don’t think there’s a chance Mbappe would be considering United at the moment. It is too early to know how or when this is going to open up.”

Will PSG sell Mbappe in January?

Even if Mbappe is open to joining United, it is really hard to imagine PSG selling him in January.

You would expect most big clubs to be reluctant to sell their best players in the middle of the season, so it is going to be difficult for Christophe Galtier and Luis Campos to find an immediate replacement for the France international.

Without Mbappe, PSG probably still have enough quality to win Ligue 1, but the Champions League is a different story with the likes of Manchester City and current holders Real Madrid also competing for the trophy.

If they are going to beat either club to Europe’s elite prize, you suspect that they will need Mbappe, who has been hailed as a “world-class” player by his national team manager Didier Deschamps.

Ultimately, it would be a bit of a surprise if PSG sold Mbappe in the winter transfer window. So even if United want the former Monaco man at Old Trafford and can convince him to join Erik ten Hag’s side, a transfer in January looks very unlikely, to say the least.
