After 1.FC Köln overcame TSG Hoffenheim on a 1-0 scoreline tonight, coach Lukas Kwasniok couldn’t hide his delight at full-time.
“It was an incredibly intense game. I don’t know if it was a deserved win, but it was certainly a bit lucky.
“The boys are giving their all; we’re a newly promoted team, so you have to suffer sometimes. And sometimes have luck on your side.
“It wasn’t like that against Stuttgart last week. It’s all about collecting points, and we did that. Hoffenheim had the quality to create top-class chances.
“Marvin Schwäbe kept us in the game. In the second half, we had trouble matching Hoffenheim’s intensity. But life is fun right now,” he added.
Effzeh head into the international break having collected their third Bundesliga win of the season in what has been a fine start for the club.
