KSI’s Team Reveal Talks With Conor McGregor Over Boxing Fight

The future of Conor McGregor in combat sports is right now, as up in the air as it has ever been. The Irish superstar hasn’t stepped foot inside the UFC Octagon in almost four years and even though he was scheduled to take on Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last summer, he was forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury, which pushed back plans for his comeback even further.

Just a few weeks ago, at a press conference for BKFC, ‘The Notorious’ teased that he may be done with his combat sports career as his current main focus is his political career, in which he is going to, he claims, run for president of Ireland. During that press conference, McGregor, while not going into too many details, revealed that he was involved in talks with boxing financier Turki Alalshikh for a fight later this year, rumored to be in Alcatraz, but the deal fell through.

New details have emerged about what that deal consisted of and who his opponent is alleged to have been.

Conor McGregor vs KSI Was a “Done Deal”, According to the YouTuber’s Team

KSI’s manager, Mams Taylor, revealed the fight was a “done deal”, but talks fell through

According to KSI’s manager, Mams Taylor, the YouTube and social media sensation had a “deal done” to fight former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor in a boxing match. Taylor revealed the big news on the latest episode of Misfits News, and it seems to line up with what the Irishman was saying just weeks ago.

Taylor said the following on Misfits News:

“The Conor McGregor one, we thought it was a done deal, and we were told it was a done deal. I don’t know exactly because I wasn’t part of the negotiations with Conor. But I think Conor made a statement recently about that and referenced it subtly, so go back to that.”

With Taylor confirming he wasn’t at the table with McGregor during negotiations, it appears the fight between KSI and ‘The Notorious’ were to happen, it could’ve been a Riyadh Season event put together by Turki Alalshikh.

KSI vs Conor McGregor Was Seemingly Set to Take Place in Alcatraz

‘The Notorious’ revealed weeks ago that he was approached about fighting in Alcatraz in June

Conor McGregor vs KSI

As well as revealing that KSI vs Conor McGregor was a “done deal,” Mams Taylor also teased that if the fight were to happen, it would’ve been in Alcatraz. Weeks ago, during his BKFC press conference, McGregor spoke about being offered a fight in Alcatraz in June but revealed that the offer wasn’t financially worth it for him.

“There was an opportunity or a deal, we’ll say, to fight in Alcatraz only recent. There’s an event going on in Alcatraz in, I believe, June. They came to me and it wasn’t my worth. As a fighter, we’ve got to know our worth. I hold every pay-per-view record in the book, I hold every gate record in the book and my comeback will be slated as the greatest or the biggest, most anticipated comeback of all time.
