Serhou Guirassy usually delivers goals for Borussia Dortmund, but the Guinea international has scored just once in his last four games for the German club.
Borussia Dortmund coach Niko Kovac, however, is confident the 29-year-old will return to his consistent scoring form.
“For me, Serhou is very, very important. He remains our insurance policy because he is a key part of this team,” Kovac told Sky Germany.
“He poses a constant threat, but you also have to notice that in recent Bundesliga games he was sometimes marked by two players – whether it was against Wolfsburg or in the last match against Leipzig. So, there are indeed two players tied up with him.
“That gives others a bit more freedom, but they are clearly trying to take our top striker out of the game. That’s why it’s not so easy for him.
“But I know that in the coming weeks, he will again give us what we need: his goals,” stressed Kovac.
Guirassy has scored six goals in eight games for Dortmund so far this season.
