Konrad Laimer to Bayern Munich is a done deal

Konrad Laimer’s move to Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig is a done deal, according to Kicker

The Austrian international has long been linked with a move to Bavarian where he would work under former Leipzig head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

With his contract running out in the summer and Laimer refusing to sign an extension, the Saxon club had little say in the matter.

As per the report, the midfielder has signed a contract with Bayern and will move there in the summer on a free transfer. The news also means that Marcel Sabitzer, once a Leipzig player, will leave Bayern this summer.

New Leipzig sports director Max Erbel expressed his desire to keep the likes of Laimer beyond this summer. However, the writing has been on the wall for some time now.

Laimer has been absent for the majority of the season due to injury but made his first start for the Saxons last week for the first time since September 2022. Ironically, he played 90 minutes in a 1-1 with his soon-to-be employer, Bayern.
