Belgian transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Holstein Kiel will complete their second January signing on Monday. Joining Slovenian defender David Zec shall be five-times-capped Rwandan international Hakim Sahabo. Tavolieri claims that the 19-year-old is due in Kiel on Monday for a medical.
The former Lille academy man counts as a versatile player capable of playing as an attacking, holding, or defensive midfielder. Whether or not Sahabo will be capable of contributing right away remains to be seen as he’s been struggling to break in with his Belgian side as of late.
The youngster hasn’t yet logged any minutes for Standard yet this year and only made head-coach Ivan Leko’s match-day squad twice. He did make 18 first-team appearances last year.
